Would you please tell me where I can obtain information re: cemetery records regarding the remains of a family named YOCKEY (Melvina Jane - whose birth date may be about 1887 or 1888 and Francis Mable Yockey whose birthdate would have been about 1892) who supposedly lived in the Stonington, Taylorville, Springfield area. My mother was a CLAUSSEN, whose grandfather was Isaac Newton CLAUSSEN, and the Yockeys were part of that family. Any information you have will be greatly appreciated. We were thru the Ponting Cemetery this morning, and had previously been thru the Old Stonington Cemetery, and were wondering if there would be other cemeteries in the area that perhaps would have the information.

I'm desperately searching for some record of both sets of great grandparents who were in Christian County. Jacob GRUBER married Lena STABLER (or STEVEL ) in Sangamon County in 1867 then settled in Christian County. They had seven children,Ida, Julia, Jennie,Mary, George, William, Jacob, all born in or around Taylorville or Johnson Township. My other great-grandparents were John Henry EBERT and Elizabeth BAKER. They also were early settlers to Christian County. They also had 7 children,William, Ira,Andrew, Frank,Goldie, Grace, John, One daughter, Grace, married Henry DUVAL, who owned a farm outside Taylorville. They lived their life there and both died in Taylorville. Does anyone have a connection?

I am searching for information regarding my paternal grandparents family. Stephen FILICSKY immigrated to the U.S. circa 1876 from Hungary/Slovokia. His wife, Mary LESKO would follow him in 1878. After living a short while in Minnesota (he was a miner) he moved to Pana where he worked as a coal miner. One of his sons, August FILICSKY married Veronica HAVRILKA (both of Pana & my paternal grandparents). Veronica's parents were Michael HAVRILKA and Veronica SEROCKEY. Following W W I they moved to Westville, Vermillion Co., and then to Danville. Any information that you might have regarding these people's ancestory or descendants would be greatly appreciated. Here are their names and birthdates: William Andrew ESTES born Feb.22,1869 Sedoras (Dora) ESTES born Nov.14,1874 Charles Columbus ESTES born Aug.27,1878 The other brothers and sister were born in Pulaski County, Mo. Their father Taylor Carvosso ESTES was said to have been born in Hendricks Co., Illinois, haven't found anything on that yet. Their mother's name was Sarah or Sally Ann (YORK) Estes. Would really appreciate it if we could get some information on this family, we do not have too much to go on. The Pulaski County Courthouse burned down in the late 1890's so we can't even go to the courthouse and get marriage license, birth records, death records etc. If anyone could tell us another place to research, would really appreciate it. I am looking for information on both of my grandparents, James RYAN and Mary Josphine (WALCH / WALSH) RYAN. James RYAN worked in cole mines but I remember him best as the policeman for Assumption. I know that he had a running, grandpa in a buckboard and the robber on horse back, gun battle with a man who had robbed the Catholic Church and was shot, he killed the robber. MARY has a brother named William WALCH / WALSH who I believe married Frances MCKENNY or DURBIN. As far as I know they lived all their lives in Assumptino, Christian County, Illinois. I would like any information I can get.

I am a decendent of Hance PEEBLES & Loruhannah HUSBANDMAN. They had a son, Robert PEEBLES who married Eliza DURR. Robert lived and died in Christian County (Assumption) between 1870 and 1880. They had a daugher Catherine PEEBLES. I can find nothing more on her. I do know that she married a RYAN. They had a son James RYAN, my grandfather. He was a policemann in Assumption had a running gun battle with a someone who had robed the Catholic Church and was shot. Ultimately he died of the gun shot because they couldn't extract the bullet. He died in the mid-1940's. I am also looking for my grandmother's family, Mary WALSH / WALCH / WELCH (I don't know the spelling). Other names come to mind like Louella DURBIN, "Junk" LAW, Mary MCKENNA or MCKENNY, William WALSH / WALCH / WELCH he was Mary's brother and moved to Detroit, MI. Any help on digging this information out would be appreciated.
