Mrs. Klassen, 60 passes away at home here

Mrs. Barbara Ellen Klassen, 60, widow of the late Frank Klassen, died at 7:15 o'clock Thursday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Morgan. She had been in poor health for some time, had been seriously ill about a week. Her death was caused by a complication of diseases.

She was born in Ashland, Pa., Mar. 15, 1865, the daughter of Jacob and Barbara Keefer Peters. She was united in marriage at Springfield on Sept. 5, 1881 to Frank Klassen. He preceded her in death in 1920.

Mrs. Klassen was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic church. She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Court officer. She was a kind and loving mother and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Jack Morgan, Mrs. Joe Morgan and Mrs. William Gooden, all of Taylorville; Mrs. Dwight Van Hoosier of Springfield; John Klassen, Taylorville, and George and Helene Klassen, both at home.

She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Dannimiller of Oakland, Calif., and a brother, Harry Peters of Taylorville. She is also survived by several grandchildren.

The funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at St. Mary's church. The Rev. Fr. J. J. Corcoran will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
