HALL, STOCKBRIDGE, THOMPSON posted by Karyn Zielasko on Sunday, September 7, 2008

Researching Erastusa A. HALL b/1827 VA whom came from MI by 1859 to IL with his wife Mary J. b/1833 PA, and children Sarah b/1854 MI, Mary Augusta 1859 IL, Hattie 1861, Addie M. 1861 (twins?), Frankie 1866 (which tells me he should have been in Civil War but cannot find him. Erastusa is spelled so many ways and he is often referred to as E.A. HALL) Willie 1868, Melissa 1870, Arthur E. 1877 all in IL. HALL'sare noted living in Christian Co. Taylorville in 1870 and 1880 census. There appears to be many HALL's in that area and suspect he connects but cannot see where. Erastusa removed to Stanwood, Snohomish Co. WA by 1900 where his wife Mary died in 1902. Below is the obit for Erastusa in 1907.
Everett Daily Herald
8/22/1907
The funeral of E. A. HALL, who died yesteday at his home at Stanwood, will be held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.R. STOCKBRIDGE, of this city. (that would be Wm. STOCKBRIDGE and his wife Mary Augusta.) Friends of the family are invited to the services at the home. The interment ceremonies at the cemetery will be private. Rev. Herbert THOMPSON will officiate. Mr. HALL was born in Michigan (which is not true according to Census it was Va and WVA) in 1827. He had made his home in Stanwood for several years where his wife died in April, 1902. He leaves six daughters and two sons.
Daughter Mary A. and son Arthur were in Snohomish Co. at death but nothing on the remaining children.
Would like to connect with HALL family and connect the E.A. HALL family with them, as well as find if E.A. HALL was a civil war veteran.

FRANKLIN posted by Dawn Shafer on Monday, March 2, 2009

I am searching for information on my great-grandfather John H FRANKLIN. His tombstone reads DOB as 6 JUL 1886. He died in 1941 in Clinton, IA. I found record in an old family Bible that he was born in Taylorville, IL. I am desperately searching for information on his parents. I was told by a great aunt that he (John) was raised by his grandparents. I'm not sure if his parents died when he was young or what happened. Can someone shed some light on this for me?

DAVIS, GASKIN posted by Lee BALSLEY on Thursday, September 10, 2009

I am trying to locate ancestral information for my maternal great-grandfather, Hatton GASKIN, b. May 6, 1835 in Monroe, Gallatin, IL, wife Delia Ann DAVIS, b. ca 1834; they had 4 children Francis Jane (my grandmother, born in Morrisonville, Christian,IL), May, Ashbury, and Betsy Ann. The only census listing I've been able to find is the 1910 United States Federal Census for King Township, Christian County, Illinois, 2 May 1910.
Would greatly appreciate any information re: Hatton's parents and siblings. The closest hit on a parent is a Howard GASKIN; the 1850 US Census listing indicates he has born around 1809, married Juliet ??, and had 7 children as of the census date ... but none were named Hatton. Closes possible is Wilson, born about 1835. Possible that Hatton didn't like that name and changed it, officially or informally. Or maybe he's not Hatton's father at all.
My older sister told me Hatton was buried in the Palmer, Christian, IL cemetery. I checked the records for the Anderson cemetery, and walked the Harper's Ferry Cemetery (records destroyed), but to no avail.

HUDSON, SHARP, SHOEMAKER posted by Ruth McClay on Wednesday, August 4, 2010

I am looking for living descendants of Columbus Franklin and Sarah Jane SHOEMAKER HUDSON.
They moved from southern Ohio to Christian County after 1900. They had five children who grew up and married in Illinois: Harry Clinton HUDSON, Lakie Florence HUDSON SHARP, Floyd Herbert HUDSON, Columbus Ray HUDSON, and James Clyde HUDSON.
Sarah Jane SHOEMAKER HUDSON was the sister of my grandmother, Lake Erie SHOEMAKER McCLAY, so Sarah Jane would be my great-aunt.
