CROUCH, RANGE posted by Ann Marie Gelven Rogers on Sunday, November 17, 2002

Searching for death record, burial record, obituary, etc., for my GR GR Grandfather, James (H.) CROUCH. He died February 17, 1863, and may have been in Taylorville, IL, at the time of his death, and possibly buried there. Was Taylorville in another county in the early years? James (H.) CROUCH was married to Anna Elizabeth (RANGE) CROUCH at the time of his death. Is there more than one cemetery in Taylorville? I would really appreciate a "lookup" for James (H.) CROUCH. Thank you for any help.

MILLER, WALKER posted by Lynn Walker Armstrong on Friday, March 21, 2003

I have just this moment signed up with Christian County IL. I have problems getting started. I am 61 and started on the computer at age 55. I have been doing genealogy research for ca 25 years. My great, great grandfather Daniel E. WALKER and his wife Rachael MILLER and all of their 8 children came to IL in 1839 and settled in Sangaman County and then were in Christian County in the 1850 census. I have been working on them for over 20 years and I am so glad I found you nice people. I do not have a URL and I do not understand the concept. None of my information is on the computer and I have been wanting to start sharing my information but did not know where to start or how to start. I have a great, great, great uncle that lived all of his adult life in Christian County. He died in 1911 and was the first person to be buried in the Oak Hill Abbey at Oak Hill Cemetery. I have an obituary from the Breeze Currier but the print is reversed. The back ground is black and the print is white. The man is J. P.(James Parker) WALKER. There is a picture of him and a picture of the new Mausoleum but they do not show up. I would like to have a picture of my uncle and one of the Oat Hill Abbey. I will send a copy of the article to you to put in your records.

MAYES posted by Raeann Lenzini on Sunday, March 30, 2003

I am looking for any information to MAYES in Christian County. The only information I have is my g.grandfather, William Henry Mayes, was born in Berry Illinois in May of 1850. This could also be a missspelling and it could be Barry Illinois in Pike County. According to William Henry MAYES' death certificate his father was Henry. I have found a census that shows William Henry MAYES' father was born in Tennessee. His mother Mary MAYES was born in Kentucky around 1821. Desperate on any information anyone can provide. Does any of the above fit with anyone in Christian County?
