BRIGGS, PENWELL posted by Louis Dailey on Thursday, February 20, 1997

I'm searching out references/confirmations for my PENWELL ancesters from Pana. In particular, I'm looking for a copy of a marriage record between Orville E. PENWELL and Ina J. BRIGGS. I suspect that their year of marriage (if they married) is 1889 since the birth of their son occurred 23 June 1890 in Macon County. Macon County has the birth of their son, Harmol C. PENWELL, recorded but not the marriage. Orville is a known resident of Pana.

DUNCAN, GOFFA, MCKINNEY posted by Carolyn Jensen on Monday, March 17, 1997

Looking for information on the family of Elijah and Temperance (MCKINNEY) DUNCAN. This couple moved with a large group of people from Rockingham Co, NC through KY and TN and arrived in the Sangamon/Christian area about 1829. Looking to correspond with descendants of this couple. A short bio on Elijah said he had 16 children so there should be someone out there. Temperance may have been a second wife, since their marriage record in Sangamon Co. 1835 does not fit with children listed in 1850 census. She was possibly the daughter of John and Temperance (?) MCKINNEY who moved on to SW Wisconsin. Elijah's first wife may have been Ruth GOFFA who he married in NC.
